Just in case you wonder

I am still just as opinionated as ever. I just don't have much time to articulate said opinions :)

You might check back every now and again. Someday there will be something new on here :)

Attention Grammar Nazis!

I do not consider myself a Grammar Nazi. My family does at times, but they do not know what they are talking about ;)

I do appreciate a finely turned phrase, but I can also appreciate it when a person uses words slightly differently than the average Grammar Nazi allows. So I do not believe I qualify as a Grammar freak or as I say, Nazi ;)

But I did absolutely enjoy this article about the use of the word got.

If you are a word nerd (Thank you David Cook! haha) like me, you might enjoy it as well.

Not to beat a dead horse as the saying goes, but...

Ron Paul is the ONLY politician who has any sense over there on Capitol Hill.

I have proof!

You've heard the latest on that bill (CPSIA) for lead testing on children's items right? Well read it here and NOTE - "Ron Paul, the lone dissenter" of the bill. Then go ahead and read this one too.

Can I get a HALLELUIA for Ron Paul?!

Foresight and common sense. He's got 'em. that's all I am saying.

Dr. Ron Paul says it all

Even if you don't like him, you have to admit he makes sense now. (People used to say he was crazy, but it seems to me like he was the only one who KNEW what he was doing.) This is him before the big bailout:

Here he is talking about the auto bail out.

Can I get an AMEN?!

"We don't even audit the Federal Reserve."

YIKES! Do the words "checks and balances" mean anything to anyone anymore?

What bothers me about Nativity Sets.

(I have a feeling I may lose a lot of friends over this post! But I hope not!)

I know, I am sort of a bah humbug. Christmas has always bugged me. I am pretty sure it is mostly because of my birthday being right before Christmas. But I have to say that all the stuff Christians do during the holiday makes me shudder. It seems to me like they are ignoring God, and doing what feels right to them without even consulting God's feelings about it. The expression, "Jesus is the reason for the season," REALLY bugs me. Is Jesus not the reason for EVERY SEASON?!?!?!?! Grrr.

But, let me tell you one of the other things that bothers me about how Christians "celebrate" this thing we call Christmas.

It is the Nativity Sets.

I have always been bothered by them.

I just want to show you the verses in the Bible that make me think that Nativity Sets and Christians just maybe should not mix.

The first one is in the Old Testament. As a matter of fact it is the second of the Ten Commandments:

Exodus 20:4
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. KJV

(4You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. NASV)

Now, it is not that I am saying that we are under the Old Law. Hebrews pretty much covers that. But now.. Jesus was a Jew and also the son of God who laid down that law; and I have a hard time believing that he would approve of any type of "image" of himself as a baby or otherwise. Because it is obvious we humans have this tendency to worship the creation and not the creator...

Romans 1:25
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. KJV

(25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. NIV)

How many times in the Bible does it say to "flee idolatry"?

Here is one place (That should be enough!):
1 Corinthians 10:14
Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Is that not JUST as important as the verse that says:

Flee fornication. 1 Corinthians 6:18

Isn't that just as important?

I think so.

And I am sorry, but I see people worshiping a baby this time of year.

Some people might say that there are those who worship trees and lights and a jolly man in a red suit this time of year too, and I would say that maybe sometimes people do that too. HOWEVER, I don't think it is the same thing to enjoy a lights display or bring a tree in your house as a decoration as to sit a "graven image" on your front lawn or on a table in your house and call it a deity. Just sayin'

In our future we may say...

Confronted with [popular] opposition, Lenin Obama began a strategic retreat from war communism known as the New Economic Policy (NEP). The p[eople] were freed from wholesale levies [rations] of grain and allowed to sell their surplus produce in the open market. Commerce was stimulated by permitting private retail trading. The state continued to be responsible for banking, transportation, heavy industry, and public utilities.

I took that quote from Wikipedia's History Of Russia.

If it does not worry you, then you can just go back under your rock and hope for the best ;)

I just think we are very good at ignoring history. And if people think the USA as we know it is going to be the same as it always has been (which is: a free country where majority rules and people do not live in fear of their rights being taken away, or the things they work for being taken and divided among others) while its governing powers continue to ignore the constitution, and the same government continues to outrageous forms of immoderate excess, then you really are living under a rock. Don't get too comfy though. Someone will surely be taking that protective rock away and dividing it among your peers before too awful long. Yep, even if you bought and paid for it. ;)

I mean if you cannot see any similarities between what we are doing and what Russia has done before, then you obviously did not read the article about Obama's new "car czar" coming soon!! EEEK. Car czar?

And when one in twelve US jobs depend on the auto industry's "Big Three" we have created a Monopoly Monster. The monster is gonna eat us alive. Just you wait and see.

The evidence is in: Scientists do not know how to apply evidence

Scientists now think that if you consume peanuts during pregnancy, instead of avoiding them, your child will have a greater chance of NOT being allergic to peanuts. Peanut allergies are one of the deadliest allergies out there. For years pregnant women, nursing mothers, and mothers of infants have been told to avoid peanuts in order to avoid a peanut allergy in their child.

New studies have brought new evidence that the previous studies were totally and completely invalid.

In other words: "We're scientists and we don't know what the crap we're talking about."

Don't believe me? Read this.

In my personal experience none of my kids are allergic to peanuts. Or eggs. Or anything else. Although Faithy was allergic to cow milk from the time she had roto-virus at age 16 months (right after I stopped nursing her, talk about feelin' the guilt) until a couple or three years ago.

I was ignorant of the fact I was supposed to avoid stuff so my kids wouldn't be allergic to it, so I didn't. I ate a lot of peanut butter when I was pregnant. I like it. It has always been an easy snack when there is nothing else in the house, ya know?

So maybe that's why my kids weren't allergic.

For people who place a lot of trust in science, this occurrence: the one that happens all the time - where the scientists prove one thing in one decade; and then another, quite opposite thing, in another decade - has to be pretty rattling. ;)

For me, I have watched enough weathermen to expect it ;)
